What should I wear to the Wedding Ceremony Mass?
Since our ceremony will take place during a traditional Catholic Mass, we kindly ask guests to dress in a way that is both respectful of the church setting and celebratory of the occasion.
* General Guidance: Think “Sunday best” or semi-formal attire. Dresses, skirts, blouses, dress pants, collared shirts, sport coats, and suits are all appropriate.
* For Women: Dresses or skirts that are knee-length or longer, or tailored pantsuits, are recommended. Please avoid very short hemlines, low-cut necklines, or strapless attire without a shawl or wrap.
* For Men: Suits or dress pants with a button-down shirt are ideal. A tie or sport coat is encouraged but not required.
* Not Allowed: Jeans, shorts, casual t-shirts, hats, or revealing clothing will not be permitted inside the church.
* Seasonal Note: Since this is an afternoon ceremony in January, consider warm yet polished attire. Phoenix could be warm or cold this time of year so layers like blazers, wraps, or cardigans can help you stay comfortable while still looking dressy.
Most importantly, we want our guests to feel comfortable while showing respect for the sacred setting of the Mass. If in doubt, lean slightly more formal.
What should I wear to the Wedding Reception?
While our ceremony is more traditional, our reception will be a celebration with a bit more freedom and personality. We want you to feel comfortable and enjoy the evening!
* Theme & Atmosphere: The Bride and Groom will be wearing cowboy boots and hats with their tux/gown, and guests are welcome to embrace a touch of western flair if they’d like. Think boots, hats, bolo ties, denim jackets, or a hint of rustic style alongside dressier outfits.
* Flexibility: Formal attire, cocktail dresses, or dress shirts and slacks are all welcome—but feel free to loosen up compared to the church ceremony. If you’d like to go semi-formal with a western twist, that’s encouraged!
* Practical Note: The venue includes both indoor and outdoor spaces with gravel pathways. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended (high heels may be tricky on gravel).
* Overall Guidance: Whether you stay fully dressed up from the ceremony, change into something more relaxed, or add a western accent to your look, you’ll fit right in. Our hope is that everyone feels festive and comfortable as we celebrate together.
What time is the reception and when will it end?
The reception is at 4:00 pm and will end at 9:00 pm.
What is the address of the reception?
You should be able to put Desert Foothills Events into the maps on your phone and be directed right to our entrance, but here’s some directions just in case - our major crossroads are Scottsdale Road and Jomax Road. From the 101 freeway – go north on Scottsdale Road 4.7 miles to Jomax Road. Turn left on Jomax. Watch for a yellow iron coyote about 1/3 mile down on the left. You will turn left at the coyote. If you get to 69th Street, you have gone slightly too far. Once you make the turn at the coyote, you will go through an open gate and follow the road back until you run right into it.
